RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Aug. 31, 2026 — AMD (NASDAQ: AMD), the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) today announced an ecosystem initiative designed to accelerate AI innovation by providing developers, startups and software engineers with access to open software tools, training and community engagement programs.
At LEAP 2026, AMD, MCIT and DCO will host the inaugural workshop on Monday, Aug. 31, to educate attendees on the AMD AI Developer Program, its comprehensive computing portfolio for AI and AMD ROCm™ open software ecosystem for AI development, as well as DCO’s AI Ethics & Responsible Governance training course and tools.
The initiative connects developers, startups and digital talent with AMD technical expertise, open innovation resources and learning opportunities, alongside DCO’s AI governance resources to support responsible AI adoption. By expanding developer skills and startup engagement, the collaboration is designed to strengthen local AI capabilities and help translate Saudi Arabia’s investment in AI technology into new applications and services.

Following the inaugural engagement in Saudi Arabia, DCO will work with AMD and interested Member States to explore opportunities to expand AI capability-building and knowledge-sharing. Through this collaboration, DCO will help connect developers, startups and digital talent with technical expertise, open innovation ecosystems and learning opportunities that can support responsible AI adoption and the development of solutions addressing national and regional economic and societal priorities.
