What’s the News? AMD and the University of Delhi have agreed to a strategic collaboration to equip India’s next generation of AI talent with industry-relevant skills. After signing a memorandum of understanding, AMD will bring its AI Engage Developer Program to the University of Delhi, giving students and faculty access to the open-source AMD ROCm™ AI software platform, learning resources and developer GPU cloud credits.

Why It Matters? India is accelerating its ambitions in AI and semiconductor innovation, increasing demand for developers and researchers with practical AI skills. The collaboration combines academic learning with hands-on access to modern AI computing tools and will help students move beyond classroom concepts to building, testing and deploying AI applications.

What Will Students Access? Students and faculty will gain access to the AMD AI learning curriculum, technical workshops, open software ecosystems and cloud-based GPU resources for hands-on experimentation. The program is designed to support innovation, research and developer readiness while advancing India’s broader vision for indigenous AI capabilities. The initiative aims to train up to 10,000 students over the next year.

What’s the University of Delhi’s Role? The University of Delhi will integrate the resources into student lessons, giving aspiring developers practical exposure to AI technologies.
