You agree to ensure that You are in possession of the latest, updated version.

This grant does not extend to use of AMD Mark(s) on Licensee product packaging or use of AMD Mark(s) on any goods that do not contain an AMD Processor. AMD shall remain the exclusive owner of all rights in the AMD Mark(s), and this License does not grant any other rights with respect to AMD’s Mark(s) trademarks or copyright. You agree that You will not, nor will you help others, contest, attack, or dispute AMD’s rights in the AMD Mark(s). The AMD Mark(s) must be used only in a positive manner and shall not be used in any way that may, in AMD’s sole judgement, disparage AMD’s reputation.

You agree not to use the AMD Mark(s) in a manner to suggest AMD’s endorsement or sponsorship of your goods or services, or in any way that may create confusion as to the source of the goods, and Licensee’s company name, logo or product name shall appear on any products or related materials where an AMD Mark(s) is used. This license may be terminated by AMD at any time, and failure to comply with these terms will result in automatic termination of this License.

Sometimes AMD acquires the right(s) to certain image(s) and includes such image(s) within AMD system(s) (“Licensed Images”). You agree to refrain from using Licensed Images for any reason outside of those directly related to your reason for accessing AMD system(s) contemplated under these Terms and Conditions. Additionally, you agree to comply with all limitation(s) on Licensed Images that are communicated to you by AMD, including but not limited to limitation(s) conveyed to you via notes in a file containing the Licensed Images.

If You encounter any non-public information related to AMD (“Confidential Information”) while accessing AMD system(s), You agree to (a) reasonably protect and not disclose any Confidential Information to any third party(ies) without AMD’s written permission; and (b) refrain from using Confidential Information in ways not relating to your access of AMD system(s).

If it is determined by AMD – in its sole opinion - that You have violated these Terms and Conditions or have otherwise misused Confidential Information, Your access to AMD system(s) may be revoked immediately and without notice.

LONDON, June 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) today announced plans to invest up to £2 billion over the next five years in the United Kingdom to accelerate AI innovation and research and expand access to the compute resources needed for long-term economic growth and scientific leadership across the country.

Speaking at London Tech Week, AMD Chair and CEO Dr. Lisa Su outlined a series of investments and strategic collaborations designed to help accelerate the U.K.’s AI ecosystem and broaden access to the advanced computing that underpins scientific discovery and public-sector innovation. The initiatives align with the U.K.’s AI Opportunities Action Plan and AI Hardware Strategy, supporting broader national priorities to build world-class AI infrastructure, develop technical talent and accelerate AI adoption.

The announcement was welcomed by U.K. government leaders as a significant step toward strengthening the country's AI infrastructure, research ecosystem and long-term economic competitiveness.

New Strategic Collaborations to Advance AI Research and Infrastructure
Building on its recently announced work with Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) and JPMorganChase, AMD also announced a collaboration with Imperial College London to advance computational science and supporting research that relies on large-scale computing resources, including healthcare innovation and climate modeling.

AMD and Imperial also intend to explore opportunities to optimize AI models, scientific workflows and data-intensive applications on AMD compute platforms and AMD ROCm™ open software.

Additionally, AMD is collaborating with Oriole Networks in support of the UK's Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA) Scaling Inference Lab, a national initiative designed to address critical AI infrastructure bottlenecks.

The effort combines Oriole's PRISM photonic networking architecture with AMD Instinct™ GPUs and AMD EPYC™ processors to evaluate new approaches for scaling inference workloads while improving performance and energy efficiency and reducing latency.

The initiative supports what is expected to be the world's first large-scale AI system powered by a pure photonic network, an important step toward infrastructure technologies that can support future generations of AI systems in the UK.

Expanding National AI Supercomputing Capacity
AMD and Dell Technologies are working with the University of Cambridge on its expanding national AI infrastructure footprint, including the new Zenith AI supercomputer and the Sunrise fusion AI system developed in collaboration with the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA).

Zenith is a significant new UK AI-for-science platform, funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), designed and operated by the University of Cambridge, and built with AMD and Dell technology.

Sunrise is a second AI supercomputer powered by AMD and Dell being built now, funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), owned by UKAEA, and operated by the University of Cambridge. Sunrise is part of a long standing UKAEA-University of Cambridge partnership and dedicated to the fusion mission.

Together, these systems support a broad range of AI-for-science applications including healthcare research, climate modelling, materials science, engineering simulation, fusion research and scientific AI model development.
