This grant does not extend to use of AMD Mark(s) on Licensee product packaging or use of AMD Mark(s) on any goods that do not contain an AMD Processor. AMD shall remain the exclusive owner of all rights in the AMD Mark(s), and this License does not grant any other rights with respect to AMD’s Mark(s) trademarks or copyright. You agree that You will not, nor will you help others, contest, attack, or dispute AMD’s rights in the AMD Mark(s). The AMD Mark(s) must be used only in a positive manner and shall not be used in any way that may, in AMD’s sole judgement, disparage AMD’s reputation.

You agree not to use the AMD Mark(s) in a manner to suggest AMD’s endorsement or sponsorship of your goods or services, or in any way that may create confusion as to the source of the goods, and Licensee’s company name, logo or product name shall appear on any products or related materials where an AMD Mark(s) is used. This license may be terminated by AMD at any time, and failure to comply with these terms will result in automatic termination of this License.

Sometimes AMD acquires the right(s) to certain image(s) and includes such image(s) within AMD system(s) (“Licensed Images”). You agree to refrain from using Licensed Images for any reason outside of those directly related to your reason for accessing AMD system(s) contemplated under these Terms and Conditions. Additionally, you agree to comply with all limitation(s) on Licensed Images that are communicated to you by AMD, including but not limited to limitation(s) conveyed to you via notes in a file containing the Licensed Images.

If You encounter any non-public information related to AMD (“Confidential Information”) while accessing AMD system(s), You agree to (a) reasonably protect and not disclose any Confidential Information to any third party(ies) without AMD’s written permission; and (b) refrain from using Confidential Information in ways not relating to your access of AMD system(s).

If it is determined by AMD – in its sole opinion - that You have violated these Terms and Conditions or have otherwise misused Confidential Information, Your access to AMD system(s) may be revoked immediately and without notice.

LONDON, Aug. 12, 2026 — AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) today announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the University of Oxford to support open academic frontier artificial intelligence research conducted by the British Open-ended Learning and Discovery Lab (BOLD). BOLD is a U.K.-based AI research lab led by the University of Oxford that brings together researchers affiliated with the University of Oxford, University College London and Imperial College London.

The MOU focuses on BOLD’s research into paradigm-breaking discoveries in fundamental AI. Together, AMD and BOLD researchers intend to explore initiatives spanning compute access, software optimization, research collaboration and open-source development. BOLD researchers anticipate experiments to explore model training techniques beyond backpropagation, discovery using multiagent systems and adaptive physical AI.

As part of the MOU, AMD would provide up to 5 million pounds in compute resources for BOLD researchers. Support would be provided through infrastructure maintained by AMD, cloud service providers, public-sector partnerships and hardware contributions. The support would span a phased research program with Phase 1 focusing on broad exploratory experiments, and later phases deepening select research directions and validating the most promising ideas.

AMD would work with BOLD researchers across the AI technology stack, exploring novel ways to optimize AI workloads using AMD’s open software ecosystem. The ecosystem which the MOU projects would be built on permissively licensed open-source projects such as AMD ROCm™ software, aligning closely with BOLD’s commitment to open science. AMD would help BOLD researchers publish research software, benchmarks, evaluation tools and other artifacts while contributing performance improvements and new capabilities upstream to the wider open-source community.

Through this collective work, AMD, the University of Oxford, University College London and Imperial College London aim to expand access to advanced compute, support ambitious open research and help strengthen the U.K. AI research ecosystem. This MOU builds on existing AMD work with leading U.K. institutions, including the University of Cambridge on the Zenith supercomputer and Sovereign AI Innovation Lab, and Imperial College London on advanced AI and high-performance computing research.

The British Open-ended Learning and Discovery (BOLD) Lab, led by Professor Jakob Foerster at the University of Oxford and combining researchers from Oxford, UCL and Imperial College London, will fundamentally rethink how AI systems learn.

Where today’s AI can struggle with real-world complexity, BOLD will develop systems capable of working alongside humans, navigating physical environments and operating without vast centralized computing power.

The lab will be built around three ambitious research pillars: new learning algorithms, human-centered AI and embodied systems such as robots.
